This modification is designed for those who find the standard over-the-shoulder camera too close and awkward in Resident Evil Requiem. This mod allows you to move the camera further from the character, increasing the viewing distance, without distorting the image (it doesn't change the FOV). The collision system with objects continues to function correctly: the camera will not clip through walls. Importantly, these changes only affect normal movement—when aiming or during story scenes, the camera reverts to its default settings to preserve the cinematic feel.

Peculiarities

  • Camera zoom out multiplier from 1x to 3x (default 3x).
  • The mod is active only when walking, running or crouching.
  • Full support for collisions with walls at increased distances.
  • All parameters can be changed in real time through the game menu.

Requirements

Installation

  1. Install REFramework if you don't have it already (the dinput8.dll file should be in the game folder).
  2. Download the archive with the mod and extract the reframework folder to the root directory of the game (where the executable .exe file is located).
  3. Make sure that the proper_3rd_person_camera.lua file is located in the path: .../Resident Evil Requiem/reframework/autorun/.
  4. Launch the game and press the Insert key to open the control menu.
  5. Go to Script Generated UI > Proper 3rd Person Camera .
  6. Use the Distance Multiplier slider to adjust your comfortable distance, and make sure the Enabled box is checked .
