Grace - Bikini Pack
Resident Evil Requiem
A customizable minimap that should be useful for casual players during a standard playthrough. An alternative for users like me who constantly have to open the map to figure out where to go :(
Map from the pause menu - only without pause.
Resident Evil Requiem has a good map. The problem is that you have to pause the game to look at it, and by the time you close it again, you're already standing in a hallway trying to remember which way the door was.
This mod simply places the map in the corner of the screen and leaves it there.
It won't ruin your playthrough.
The mod doesn't create its own map. It re-displays the game's original floor plan: the same developer-created room shapes, the same three-tiered fog of war system, and the same detection status for every object. A room you haven't entered yet will remain dark. An item you haven't found yet won't appear on the map at all—it won't be grayed out or otherwise marked. If the regular map from the pause menu doesn't show you any information, the minimap won't either.
This is the main rule of mod design, and everything else below follows it.
What is displayed
Enemies
The game intentionally doesn't show you enemies anywhere, so any such markings add information the developers decided to hide. That's why this feature is disabled by default, and each mode clearly states the advantage it comes at a cost:
Settings
The settings window is opened by pressing the F9 key, which can be remapped. A real-time preview of changes is available: shape, screen angle, size, scale, opacity, rotation, all marker categories, and enemy display modes. The minimap automatically hides during loading screens, cutscenes, and when opening the regular map, inventory, or documents.
In conjunction with RE9 Completion Tracker
If you also use a tracker, the minimap receives information about the destination it's leading you to and displays the route and the object itself on the map. Neither mod requires the other to be installed.
Performance
Native C++, no Lua. The floor plan is generated once for each level and then redrawn from the buffer; no heavy operations are performed every frame. The mod only reads the game state and draws the overlay—it never makes changes to your save.
